Warbler

Warbler takes inspiration from the beloved children’s toy bird whose song was created by drawing water through a hidden mechanism. Reimagined in sterling silver, the piece transforms that simple object of delight into a sculptural wearable form.

Perched upright with its elongated tail and stylised body, the brooch balances humour, nostalgia, and refined craftsmanship. A brilliant-cut citrine forms the bird’s eye, introducing a small flash of golden light that animates the polished silver surface.

Though highly polished and elegant, the work retains the directness and optimism of the original toy. The simplified forms and slightly exaggerated proportions give the brooch a lively, characterful presence — somewhere between ornament, memory object, and miniature sculpture.

At 5cm x 7cm, Warbler is a substantial brooch best suited to coats, jackets, knitwear, or heavier garments.
